I joined Cru at the beginning of my freshman year. For the entirety of this first year, I was just a member.
April 2020

I was invited to apply to be a student leader starting my sophomore year. My application was accepted.
August 2020

I co-led a freshmen girls Bible study with a close friend and served for my first year as a student leader.
August 2021

I was selected to be Vice President and transitioned into the role of weekly meeting leader.
August 2022

I continued in my position of Vice President and stepped down from weekly meeting leader.
May 2023

Upon graduation during finals week, I released my responsibilities as a student leader in Cru to successive students.

What I did:

- Brainstormed club events
- Planned and executed social events including S’mores Night, Beach Hang, Cru Hikes, Games & Guac, Cru Formal, and A Night at Hogwarts
- Contacted 60+ incoming freshmen to invite them to Cru
- Attended monthly student leader meetings
- Participated in yearly student leader retreat (planned for upcoming year)
- Met with co-leader once a week to discuss plans for upcoming meeting
- Created Bible study structure
- Asked thought-provoking questions to initiate conversations
- Supported and mentored freshmen girls
- Led meetings through prayer, discussion, and group activities
- Met weekly with co-leader to plan upcoming meetings
- Designed slide decks for announcements, content, and worship
- Selected and led ice breaker games
- Emceed weekly meetings
- Attended leadership training hosted by Chapman University for all student organizations
- Reserved rooms on campus for weekly meetings
- Contacted department of student organizations to complete required procedures
- Booked locations for social events
- Attended Fish Interfaith Meetings as the representative of Cru (mandatory weekly meetings for all religious clubs to attend)
- Maintained effective communication with Cru staff and executive board/students leaders
