I started working at the information desk in the Student Union as a Guest Relations Assistant.
March 2020

When the university closed due to COVID, I began remote work from home after student engagement reopened.
August 2021

We began the school year online, so my job transitioned into Event Coordinator for virtual events.
April 2022

I returned to school and my previous role in the Student Union with a new title, Student Union Assistant.
August 2022

After the department was restructured, I began work my senior year as an Operations and Décor Assistant.
May 2023

Upon graduation during finals week, I worked my last shift at this campus job for my 4 years at the university.

What I did:

- Supervised room of 20+ people
- Monitored the front desk of Student Union
- Answered visitor and student questions
- Regulated TVs and music
- Applied critical thinking to solve technological problems
- Completed hourly security walks and room counts
- Maintained Student Union’s cleanliness and furniture layout
- Brainstormed event ideas to engage and entertain students virtually
- Designed promotional flyers on Canva for posts on Instagram
- Planned and prepared for virtual events
- Emceed and led virtual events including Harry Potter Trivia Night, Disney Game Night, and Pixar Trivia Night
- Assumed same responsibilities as Guest Relations Assistant
- Performed opening and closing procedures
- Used desk computers to look up information for inquirers
- Answered phone calls from university departments and students
- Researched gallery topics/ideas monthly
- Installed gallery exhibits
- Wrote gallery descriptions
- Shopped for seasonal decorations
- Decorated the Student Union each month for holidays and events
- Continued previous responsibilities required of Student Union Assistants
