2025 in Review
2025 was an incredible year. I did much of what I hoped for. God answered lots of prayers. One of the biggest ones was for a local dance studio where I could routinely take class. Having that creative outlet has made such a difference. I’m so, so thankful for the frequent chance to dance.
I experienced some incredible things from traveling to new countries and states, to enjoying sweet moments with family and friends. I began pursuing my dreams to dance professionally. I published my book. I was there for my family through some really hard times. I felt God affirm that part of my purpose in this season of living at home is to be a support for them. I made great progress on paying off my student loans and made some strides towards better financial stewardship. I finished my second Bible in a year reading plan. I experimented with my style and began building a wardrobe I feel confident wearing. And as I predicted, I am still single. It was indeed another year of Jesus and me alone. But it was good. I am content with where I am and confident in God’s timing.
There were lows and hard days, but the good ones outshine them. There were still dreams unmet and moments of disappointment after receiving a “no”. But I’m proud of where I am today, growing and learning a little more each day. After rereading my goals for 2025, I am happy to say that I lived them through.
On the 31st, I went through my calendar month by month and wrote myself a little “recap” of the year. Here are the highlights :)
In January, I had an elective surgery that was a huge answer to years of prayer.
In February, I flew to Rome to visit my sisters who were studying abroad. We took a trip to Denmark and Germany while I was there.
I visited one of my best friends in SoCal over Valentine’s Day weekend. I had some Southwest points and therefore, “free” ;) flights.
In March, I attended several workshops for the 49ers Gold Rush and auditioned for their team.
In April, I went on my first business trip, and it went a lot better than expected.
In May, my college besties got together for a long weekend and spent some time in Carmel. A couple of weeks later, one of them got engaged there!
In June, my mom, sisters, and I went on our annual girls' trip to Santa Barbara.
On June 24th, I published my book, My Road Home, on Amazon.
In July, my family went on our annual camping trip to Pinecrest.
In August, I traveled to Chicago and Dallas, two states I had yet to see.
A couple of days after my birthday, we took a trip to SoCal to move my sisters into college, which meant a few days at Disney and another chance for me to see my SoCal friends.
In September, I finished 1 year full-time at my current job.
I went wedding dress shopping with my friend who's getting married.
In October, I started attending a young adults group at my church.
My mom and I watched Dancing with the Stars together and were stoked when Robert won.
In November, my Gramma turned 80, and we celebrated her with a big party.
My dad and I ran the Monterey Half Marathon together.
In December, we went down to SoCal one more time for a quick Disney trip, and I caught up with a few friends.
2025. What a year. Thank you, Jesus, for answered prayers.
If you have a moment to reflect, I’d totally encourage you to make a recap of your own. Take yourself down memory lane and remember all that you accomplished, all that made you smile, and all that made you grow into who you are today.
And as you step into the first week of 2026, remember that you are loved by God, wonderfully made, and beautifully you. Don’t let someone else’s voice speak louder than what’s true.
Until next time…
hugs,
Kylie
